Clayton Hutson Talks About His Career As A Music Producer

Clayton Hutson is a music producer who recently gave an interview about his craft. One of the points he brings up is how important it is for him to take into consideration the thoughts and feeling are of those musicians he is working with. The goal is to always put on a concert that is very memorable for the audience. To make this happen he frequently works the entire day in order to be sure that every single detail is taken care of.

He was in the music industry for several years before deciding to open his open business in this industry. Clayton Hutson says that he has worked in a lot of different positions and learned something new about putting on concerts in every one of them. He has developed a skill set that can be applied to every part of putting on a live performance. When he started his company it was during the 2008-2009 recession during which time many companies were having financial problems, including the one he was working for at the time. He thought at the time that the best way to move forward was through his own company.

The most important part of producing a concert is the lead-up time to it, he says. What he and his crew do before the live performance determines how well it will be pulled off. While the show is going on he starts to put together the action plan for how the set will be taken apart and who will be doing each task. He says that the best way he does these tasks is by visualizing them. He also uses CAD design which is important because it enables him to make sure all of the equipment can fit into each venue, down to the precise size of doorways.

One thing that Clayton Hutson would like to see the live entertainment industry move beyond is video. Just about every concert currently has giant video screens which he thinks is getting pretty old. He says he hopes the industry can move beyond this to something more exhilarating. He says that he finds the best concerts are those that have something different to them, such as acrobatics and/or aerial stunts. He points to Pink and Lady Gaga as two musicians who are doing something different like this and who are pushing the industry forward. Learn more:  https://clayhutson.com/about-clay-hutson
